Paulette's 2008 image Oysters, After W.C.H. is featured in a new exhibition at the Alimentarium Museum, in Vevey, Switzerland. The exhibition, entitled An Artist's Delight: Revealing the Fantasies of Still Life opened on May 2 and will run for nearly a year, until April 30, 2014.
A detailed description of Paulette's image, which was inspired by a 1620 painting by Willem Claesz Heda can be found in the exhibition catalog.
Art Historian Silvia Malaguzzi has written a fascinating essay comparing and contrasting the Tavormina and Heda artworks and explaining the symbolism of each of the elements of the two compositions.
